University of Alberta creates a supportive space for Aboriginal students through First Peoples’ House

The University of Alberta created the First People’ House to empower the more than 1,000 Aboriginal students from across Canada who study at U of A. Guided by cultural teachings, the First Peoples’ House provides a supportive environment for First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) learners to achieve personal and academic growth. First Peoples’ House acts as a hub for advice, tools and resources to help Aboriginal students adjust to university life in an urban centre.
